2024 Quarterly Report

Quarter 1

​

  • PSATS hosted our 3rd Annual Conference in February which provided 6 Cat A BOC CEUs and .6 NSCA CEUs

  • The conference can be purchased on our website if you were not able to make it (only BOC CEUs available after date of conference)

  • We are gearing up for our Annual Meeting in New Orleans during NATA week, stay tuned for details!

  • Submissions closed for our first ever Funds Allocation Grant. Awardees will be notified in April! Our next grant will be the Research Grant which is open April 1st thru June 30th. This program is to support current members in good standing with a scholarship to provide funds for conducting or presenting their research. See the website for more details and the form to apply!

  • The PSATS Innovation Award nominations will open in April. See the website for further details on how to nominate a deserving athletic trainer!!

Quarter 1

Quarter 2

  • Annual Business Meeting was in person for the first time since COVID in Indianapolis during NATA Convention 2023. Video was recorded and can be found under 'Video' tab.

  • Bylaws were edited and voted in unanimously by the membership at the annual meeting. 

  • Innovation in Public Safety Athletic Training Award was created and awarded to Nancy Burke.

  • The Innovation in Public Safety Athletic Training Award was named after Nancy Burke for her service and dedication to the profession

  • Open seats for Digital Media Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator were appointed by the board. The current board is as follows:

    • Executive Director: Maura Shea

    • President: Miranda Zamora-Williams

    • Vice President: Brady Corse

    • Treasurer: Lynsey Hansen

    • Secretary: Elizabeth McCabe

    • Social Media Coordinator: Kelsey Tanler

    • Digital Media Coordinator: Molly Hinchliff

    • Education Coordinator: Alan Russell

  • Discussion with NATA President Kathy Dieringer, EdD, LAT, ATC to outline goals for better collaboration. 

  • Public Safety related CEUs provided for April and May virtually and June for in-person members.

Quarter 3​

​

  • 3 more Category A CEUs were added on our website for subscribers to watch

  • Opened our call for speakers and proposals for the PSATS Conference closing 11/19/23 

  • Website has gone under construction and is being revamped to be more user friendly and make finding content easier

  • A search function has been added along with "tags" to video resources for finding specific content, faster

  • Members were successful in taking action to help Iowa ATs keep state licensure by emailing legislators and lobbyists

Quarter 4​

  • 3.5 Category A CEUs added on our website for subscribers to watch

  • CEUs can be purchased individually for non-subscription 

  • Speakers have been selected for PSATS Conference (9 Feb 2024)

  • Registration for PSATS Conference opens January 2, 2024

  • Website has had a huge makeover! Take some time to explore the new site. Video and journal content can be found more easily with the addition of a search bar.

  • The Funds Allocation Committee has been working on scholarships  for a variety of areas: speaker, education, research, student. The first scholarship application will open January 1, 2023. Stay tuned!
